Headquarters: Slovenia URL: http://bunny.net Staff Software Engineer (Magic Containers) Magic Containers is bunny.net’s edge-native platform for running containerized applications. It’s fast, flexible, and free from traditional cloud complexity. No Kubernetes. No YAML jungles. Just a simple, powerful way to deploy and scale apps globally with minimal setup. It’s already running in production, powering real workloads, and we’re ready to take it further. As a Staff Software Engineer , you’ll help evolve a platform that’s built for developers, with great DX, simple operations, and rock-solid reliability. You’ll work fast, ship often, and have a real voice in shaping the future of how containers run at the edge. You’re a technical leader who shapes how we build at scale. <p>At JetBrains, we care deeply about developer tools and the code-writing experience. The Scala plugin for IntelliJ IDEA helps developers work with Scala every day. Supporting that experience means understanding real-world development workflows, staying close to user needs, and continuously improving the tools developers rely on.</p> <p>We’re looking for a Technical Product Manager to help improve IntelliJ IDEA’s Scala support. This is a hands-on role focused on understanding developer needs and turning them into practical product improvements. You will work closely with engineers, experiment with modern Scala projects and tooling, analyze user feedback, investigate pain points in areas such as build systems, debugging, and code insight, and test ideas through prototypes and direct user interaction.</p> <p>Our goal is to provide developers with a reliable and productive environment for working with Scala and its ecosystem. We’re looking for someone who enjoys developer tools, understands technical trade-offs, and likes improving products through close collaboration with both users and engineers.</p> <h3><strong>In this role, you will:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Own the product vision for the Scala plugin, ensuring it provides fast, correct, and trustworthy IDE support that evolves with the language.</li> <li>Analyze product usage statistics and run a consistent pipeline of user interviews to ground decisions in real workflows.</li> <li>Use IntelliJ IDEA with the Scala plugin daily – dogfooding features, catching regressions, and validating the developer experience first-hand.</li> <li>Maintain and develop reference projects that serve as showcases for new features, material for conference demos, and a living test bed for DX quality.</li> <li>Own and continuously adapt the plugin roadmap for short-term release goals, mid-term initiatives, and longer-term projects related to the Scala ecosystem.</li> <li>Align plugin planning with Scala compiler releases and IntelliJ IDE

About the Role This is a high-ownership engineering role at a fast-growing, open-source AI engineering platform — think of it as the Datadog for LLM observability. The platform is trusted by thousands of development teams worldwide, and the SDKs you'll own are downloaded millions of times each month , often serving as the very first touchpoint a developer has with the product. The SDKs run in production environments ranging from serverless functions to long-running agent loops. They must be rock-solid: minimal CPU and memory overhead, zero tolerance for failure, and a developer experience that feels effortless. When you ship, thousands of developers benefit the same day. What You'll Do Own the Python and TypeScript SDKs end-to-end — reliability, performance, and developer experience. Set the bar for SDK quality across the organization. Design APIs developers love — naming conventions, parameter structure, breaking-change communication, and documentation. Every detail of the DX is yours to shape. Drive OpenTelemetry-based integrations — architect and implement framework integrations across the AI/LLM ecosystem (e.g. major LLM providers, orchestration frameworks, agent runtimes). Maintain and evolve the SDK release lifecycle — versioning strategy, packaging, CI/CD pipelines, compatibility testing, and automated release management. Performance engineer the SDK — profile, identify bottlenecks, and reduce latency and memory footprint so the SDK is never the limiting factor in production. Engage the open-source community — triage GitHub issues, review external PRs, write developer-facing docs, and represent the project on public channels. Collaborate cross-functionally — work closely with product and data teams to translate platform capabilities into clean SDK abstractions. What We're Looking For Required 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years building or maintaining SDKs or client libraries Proven track record designing, impl
