Headquarters: Remote URL: https://www.toptal.com/ About the Role We're looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise ServiceNow implementations — from module configuration and integrations to platform lifecycle management and technical debt reduction. This is a hands-on development role: requirements and user stories are typically already defined, and you'll execute against them with real platform depth, not just admin-level configuration. Strong overlap with US business hours is required. What You'll Do Develop and configure ServiceNow solutions across relevant modules (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, and others depending on engagement) Build and maintain integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and MID Servers with existing enterprise systems Write advanced JavaScript for ServiceNow scripting — Script Includes, Business Rules, UI Actions Follow upgrade-safe, OOTB-first configuration practices, favoring Flow Designer and Decision Tables over heavy custom scripting where possible Support platform governance, data integrity, and technical debt reduction Collaborate closely with existing product and delivery teams against defined requirements and user stories Contribute to platform-architecture-level initiatives such as Now Assist (GenAI), Virtual Agent, CSDM, and ITOM AIOps where applicable Support ACL remediation and platform security hygiene What You Bring Strong to expert-level hands-on ServiceNow development experience 5+ years hands-on enterprise ServiceNow development experience (8+ years in Information Services overall preferred) Advanced JavaScript skills for ServiceNow scripting (Script Includes, Business Rules, UI Actions) Strong communication skills for close collaboration with client and delivery teams Comfort working within an upgrade-safe, OOTB-first configuration philosophy Ability to work independently against pre-defined requirements and user stories Nice to Have Experience with specialized ServiceNow modules: Integr

You must be available during 8AM–5PM EST, Monday to Friday. On average, you’ll work up to 9 hours per day, and some days will require a little more effort of 10 hours.
